Bulgaropedia is an independent digital project dedicated to preserving, documenting, and promoting Bulgarian history, culture, traditions, discoveries, and global achievements through educational content and research-based articles.

To help more people discover the depth, beauty, and global importance of Bulgaria.

Despite being one of Europe’s oldest countries, Bulgaria is often overlooked in international media and educational resources. Yet Bulgarian civilization has contributed enormously to world culture through ancient history, the Cyrillic alphabet, traditional folklore, medicine, science, sports, cuisine, and cultural traditions that continue to survive today.

Bulgaropedia was created to help preserve and share that knowledge in an accessible way for readers around the world.

Why Bulgaropedia Exists

Bulgaria has one of the richest cultural histories in Europe, yet much of its heritage remains underrepresented online in English.

From ancient Thracian treasures and medieval empires to folklore rituals, yogurt cultures, scientific discoveries, and modern global achievements, Bulgaria has influenced the world in far more ways than many people realize.

Bulgaropedia exists to help preserve that heritage digitally while making it easier for global audiences to learn about Bulgaria beyond stereotypes and travel clichés.

Bulgaropedia is an independent project created out of passion for Bulgarian culture, history, education, and preservation.

The project may generate revenue through advertising, affiliate partnerships, and reader support in order to help fund:
